We've started developing The Playerspool v2.0 in 2008. The first release was tested through a closed user group with members from four different countries. In April 2009 we decided to test the new Playerspool website through a larger audience (you).
We are still developing the website at both front-end and back-end by adding functionality aimed at improving the user experience and user-friendliness as well as enhancing profile content. Of course, the website is still in a beta version, and so you might come accross the occasional glitch.
If you know a little bit about the history of The Playerspool, you will know that it was originally for student athletes that were looking for a soccer scholarship in the United States. The Playerspool has since evolved quite a bit and added a pool for soccer talents as well as soccer coaches.
As we are preparing The Playerspool for its next leap forward (no no, you'll have to wait just a tad longer before we reveal what we've got up our sleeves) we have decided to join the player and student profiles into a single, combined profile. This profile will be referred to as a Player Profile and will include your academic details when you are interested in a soccer scholarship.
So, don't be alarmed if your Student Profile has mysteriously evaporated to thin air, you're still there for coaches to be found. It only means that we are this much closer to a new website that, we promise, will knock your socks off!
We have removed the login requirement voor all player, student and coach profiles. From now on, profiles are not only accessible by registered members but also by guest users. Sending messages will remain a service for registered members only.
By popular demand, we have implemented a feature called 'Invite Your Teammates'. You can find it on your profile page, and use it to send an invitation to The Playerspool to multiple friends and teammates at once.

The student profiles are now also showing the student's playing career.
We have fixed the anomaly that caused new student profiles to be assigned the status 'Professional Player'. Existing student profiles with status ‘Professional’ have been updated to status 'Amateur'.
